Why Do I Need a Health Coach?

Health coaches are just another version of a personal trainer. We keep you on track, motivated, and educated. If you've ever walked into a gym without being taught the proper technique on a lift, or given a proper program, you could walk around for an hour or two and try and figure it out as you go and end up losing progress toward your ultimate goal. There are many reasons why working with a health or nutrition coach is beneficial:


1. Knowledge

A health coach is there to share their experience and knowledge. They should be able to apply that to your training and schedule to help you meet the goal that is specific to you. A general training program will NOT work for everyone. It might get you started in the right direction, but you will need constant adjustments and feedback to continue to make progress.


2. Motivation

Sometimes....no ALWAYS....Life will get in the way. You will get discouraged or feel run down or plateau. This is where a coach will swoop in and pick you up to keep you moving forward. Sometimes you need to go off "the plan" for a little while. That is normal and a good coach will account for that so that progress isn't stifled. You shouldn't need to abandon everything because you won't be 100% on your schedule. Whether it's finding a way to reduce stress, alter dietary habits, or just tell you that you are doing awesome, the coach is there to make sure you keep pushing forward.

3. Accountability

One of the greatest tools of staying on top of your game is knowing that someone else is going to check on you. It's simply human nature. We don't want to disappoint someone else and we want to always present the best version of ourselves. If we know that someone is going to check on us later, we will do our best to not disappoint. I've found this to be extremely effective, despite the fact that no coach should judge you in the event you do fall off the wagon. Your coach wants you to be honest so that they can have all the facts and adjust whatever is necessary so that you may have the success you are looking for.


Don't think you need to be healthy before you get a health or nutrition coach. We are here to get you to that point, regardless of where you are starting from.
